Pricing is based on many factors including materials, site access for craning, Federal or State mandated wages, ARRA requirements, savings from simultaneously installed multiple roofs and so on. A disproportionate portion of the cost relates to growth media. We try to minimize extra expense by minimizing planting depth where possible but our expensive media is far and away the best green roof soil in New England. Root protection may be less costly depending on the membrane type. As plantings deepen, aluminum edging must match that depth. When walkways are added we provide premium pavers and underlayment. We grow many of the plants which we use and all of our plants are grown in MA, NH or ME. Where irrigation is required we use only Netafim and Hunter equipment (lower right above) made in the USA. In fact all of our materials are made in the U.S. Typically for materials, delivery and installation we are the lowest priced firm due to our installation experience, well-trained workforce, great vendors, a lack of overhead and economies of scale.
