| Specifications and submittals are often flexible enough to allow for site specific modifications to the type and amount of materials to be used. We find architects and engineers are most flexible when presented with compelling evidence of success at similar sites with similar features or climate conditions. We believe a built in place system is the most suitable for nearly every design situation. The drivers can range from concerns about dead load capacity (media weight as shown in upper left or lower right above), water or nutrient capacity, a combination of aesthetic and practicality such as a particular specie (coastal dusty miller in middle above), or long term client needs with regards to maintenance (keeping stone barrier weed free in right above), pedestrian access or the desired "look" after a period of years of "growing in". |
