Built In Place System Criteria for System Selection Weight Restrictions and How to Address Them

Between 2005-2006, Jeff Licht was a TIE Fellow at Tufts University and began working with tray systems. In 2009, he joined the faculty of the EEOS Department at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. In late spring 2011, Licht joined Professor Lyle Craker, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, to start a new research program at UMass in Waltham about halfway between the two campuses. There, large model green roofs were constructed with materials supplied by Permaloc, SIKA Sarnafil, Read Custom Soils, JDR Inc, EJ Prescott and STAPLES.

Among the research objectives are investigations of biochar manufactured from a variety of feedstocks including organic waste, corrugated cardboard, plant physiology, eco services. A variety of testing including HPLC, IPC, CHN, PD analyses yield valuable information about the direction we could or should be heading in.
